The revisions of "the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Plant Protection Act" were published in Japanese Official Gazette on 24 May 2016.
Revisions of lists will enter into force after six months from the date of adoption (on 24 November 2016) with the exception of the following:
- Deletion of three quarantine pests from Quarantine Pest List, deletion of country in the item No. 22 and 23 of list of the Plants Subject to Field Inspection in Exporting Countries, deletion of country and plant and addition of plant in the item No.1 of list of the Import Prohibited Plants, Provisional Quarantine Pest list, and Non-Quarantine Pest List will enter into force on the date of adoption (on 24 May 2016).
- Revision of list of the Plants Subject to Field Inspection in Exporting Countries will enter into force one year from the date of adoption (on 24 May 2017) (excluding the nine quarantine pests which will be moved from list of the Plants Subject to Field Inspection in Exporting Countries to list of the Plants Subject to Specific Phytosanitary Measures to be carried out in Exporting Countries, which will enter into force after six months from the date of adoption).
