To achieve reliable plant quarantine performance, quarantine officials are required to have comprehensive professional knowledge of botany, applied entomology, plant pathology, agricultural chemicals, sterilization techniques, plant quarantine administration and trade practices. To fulfill this end, a variety of training courses are held at the Yokohama Training Center where a diverse assortment of laboratory equipment has been installed.
